Writing is very similar to reading, I've learnt that it is very easy to get lost in a world of words whether you're reading them or indeed, writing them. The effect is the same...you become immersed in a time warp and before you know it, half a day has flown past without you realising.
Well in to the throng of words that are beginning to form my second book, I have spent the whole afternoon with my protagonist and her friend, at a dinner/dance event. After several thousands of words, I'm feeling just like the characters, tired and drunk on sentences and paragraphs.
I shouldn't be complaining, it's been a good day of writing and as I only get weekends to do it, I'm pleased with my efforts and can honestly say that I'm ahead (for once!).
