Returning the friendly gesture, Emma felt slightly peeved that the five girls did indeed look highly glamorous in their sparkly outfits, as they made their way over. What with Ruby – the gorgeous nymph like creature – and the young ‘‘giggle-girls’’ (Emma liked to refer to them as ‘air-heads’ or ‘‘giggle-girls’’ because they were always chortling on about something or other that was usually totally pointless and they giggled a lot as well), with hem lines practically up to their waists, Emma wondered for a moment just what her chances were of pulling Darren this evening. Well, he did wink at her, she supposed, didn’t he? And she did look pretty good herself, just slightly more mature looking, as long as she didn't smile too widely – didn't she?
Blurb:
Emma Frey shares a flat with her friend and colleague Ruby, a geeky bookish romantic with a taste for Mills & Boon.
Emma has a fear of the dentist which is becoming a real problem as her gums continue to recede, but she cannot face the thought of a visit to the dental practice. She much prefers to live by the saying, ‘Ignorance is Bliss’, which is really starting to worry Ruby.
Meanwhile, preparations for Webb’s DIY Store Christmas party are well under way and Emma has match-making plans for Ruby and another colleague, Pete, before embarking on her own love mission.
Although Emma is reeling in shock from the outright cruelty inflicted upon her from one of her work colleagues, she tries to overcome the pain and ridicule and continues with her plan.
Will Ruby and Pete discover a mutual attraction and can Emma win the heart of Webb’s shop floor manager with her charms?
More importantly, will Emma ever overcome her fear of dentists?
Ignorance is never the answer...
