Self-pity stems from dependency and having a lack. If you have low self-esteem, then you tend to look to others for validation. Self-pity can sometimes cause you to feel unworthy and you tend to dwell more on your failures. As I mentioned before, you must celebrate your victories. You are not a victim and you shouldn't be too hard on yourself.
