Being fortunate enough to work in a school and have the benefit of school holidays, you would think that I had heaps of spare time for blogging and tweeting and commenting on every social network that I know of. Well, the answer to that query is categorically, a great big- NO! So you could now be wondering what I do with all my spare time and the answer to that would be the same as the answer to the question above - why has it taken me so long to post this?
So there you have it - my life seems to be a continual loop of wonderment at the failings of the ticking clock to actually provide me with any real time to do anything remotely productive.
Back to the Launch Party...
What a fabulous launch party I had and it was all thanks to quite a lot of people who have supported me throughout my writing journey. Then there were all those other people that weren't able to come for travelling and distance reasons or prior arrangements but they too are included in my deepest thoughts of gratefulness and gratitude. I wouldn't be who I am today if I didn't know each and every one of them. |
I'm not sure how I would have got through the preparations for the party if it hadn't been for my dearest mum and her keen aptitude for cleaning, cooking and washing up and sometimes doing it all at the same time. She truly is a Supermum!
The last minute preparations were aided by my youngest son's dear girlfriend - Benita. She had the painstaking task of swatting the annoying flies, trying to get a look-in on the buffet and scanning the floors (indoors) for random clumps of husky fur that rolled around like tumbleweed on the laminate - even after Mum's intensive, super-sonic hoovering marathon!
So, the party was a success. The evening sun shone brightly, the alcohol flowed, the flies flew far away, the food was devoured, everyone survived the speech (including me, who was so nervous that I had perhaps a little too much punch to calm my nerves beforehand) and the dog continued her molting mission in the garden.
I had a big cake made to take into work and share with everyone, which again did not help the waistline to go in the right direction but it was well worth it and hopefully enjoyed by all who indulged.
